My Story
I am Based in the picturesque Kenmare,Co Kerry The Irish name for the town 'An Neidín' translates into English as 'The Little Nest'. Kenmare is the anglicized form of Ceann Mhara "head of the sea", which refers to the furthest point inland reached by the sea. The little nest of kenmare is nestled beautifully in between the Iveragh peninsula and Beara peninsula.
Growing up in Kerry fishing has always been part of my identity and a huge passion of mine having been taught the art of fly fishing at the tender age of seven by my father I gravitated to the idea of exploring the depths of the unknown whether it was spinning fishing at sea or fishing the scenic inland lakes and rivers I was hooked. Many of my fondest memories of my youth are remembered while on rocks while on fishing adventures along the coasts of Kerry with my brothers and father.
I have tremendous knowledge of the local areas for sea and freshwater fishing. As well as my fishing knowledge I love sharing my extensive knowledge on finding fish, reading water, and aquatic entomology. I also am well versed in the identification of native plants, mushrooms, birds, and wildlife tracks. Clients will enjoy learning about the diverse flora and fauna of the region while navigating the breathtaking inland areas and coastal mountains
I also hold classes for beginners who need some help with learning the basics. When not guiding I spend most of my free time on the waters I grew up on, finding new places to explore and share with friends and cleints
